At Martha’s Vineyard Hospital, we are committed to improving the quality of life for individuals who suffer from chronic pain and work in partnership with referring primary care physicians to provide care for patients with chronic or acute pain. Our pain specialists utilize leading-edge technology and the latest discoveries in research to provide optimal care and help patients find the relief they need.

Through a combination of virtual and in-person appointments, the Pain Management program connects Island patients with the expertise of the Center for Pain Management at Massachusetts General Hospital under the leadership of Dr. Shiqian Shen. This program is the first of its kind in the field of Pain Medicine, whereby patients and doctors meet via tele-medicine (videoconferencing) for pain management evaluations. Doctors perform pain management procedures twice a month on-site at Martha’s Vineyard Hospital.
